Elena Bagdat was born circa 1918 to Alexandru Bagdat (1880-1931) and Elena Suciu (c1885-c1945) and died 22 September 1939 Bârnova, Iași County, Romania of shot by authorities.

Biography

As a teenager, Elena Bagdat joined the Iron Guard movement and was active as a courier between the different groups. She was arrested in 1939 as part of the repressions against the far right and was detained in the Sadaclia prison camp in Bessarabia, where she contracted pneumonia. Sent to the Bârnova sanatorium she was arrested on Sep. 22, 1939, during the actions taken by the authorities against Iron Guard activists, following the assassination of prime minister Armand Călinescu (1893-1939). She was shot near the local forest and interred in a shallow grave. In 1940, her remains were moved to a cemetery in Predeal
