Please welcome them in their new roles. Roles that they, in large part, will help define--with the rest of us nudging them all the way. I know they will help make the Wiki much bigger and better.

Revision as of 09:41, 14 July 2006

Currently only one active genealogist is an administrator here. Anyone who would like to be given the extra facility that goes with being a sysop or bureaucrat may edit this page and "lobby" active contributors. See Wikipedia:Requests for adminship.

I guess one necessary rule would be for only logged in users being able to vote. iFaqeer (Talk to me!) 00:26, 19 Sep 2005 (UTC)

Applications (ie self-nominations)

  • I would like to serve. I have only been on here a few days, but have posted a few hundred articles, i.e.:

and have added to a few existing articles and discussions. I have also made several article submissions to wikipedia, i.e.

Nominations of users by others

(Please tell the user and request that a consent be noted here)

Nomination of Jtc

I believe admin rights should be given to our most prolific current contributor, User:Jtc, if only to make his spam-rollback process easier. Robin Patterson 00:40, 31 Aug 2005 (UTC)

Hmmm. I guess this is a very necessary next step; having more admins. Could have some discussion of this user, please?
iFaqeer (Talk to me!) 00:26, 19 Sep 2005 (UTC)
Maybe one of us frightened him away? See his contributions

Nomination of Robin Patterson

I'd also like users to discuss Robin Patterson as a possible Admin. iFaqeer (Talk to me!) 00:26, 19 Sep 2005 (UTC)

Accepting nomination. Robin Patterson 00:30, 13 Jan 2006 (UTC)

Yewenyi

Anyone who has contributed over 90% of the content should be an admin if he or she would like to be. Being Australian is no disadvantage; in fact it gives a better coverage of the 24-hour period in the fight against spam. Robin Patterson 00:30, 13 Jan 2006 (UTC)

I consent to be an administrator. Yewenyi 07:56, 5 February 2006 (UTC)

Nhprman

Currently the most active contributor. Stephen would be able to deal with vandalism much more easily if he was made a sysop. Robin Patterson 01:39, 16 May 2006 (UTC)

  • I consent to the nomination. Thank you. Nhprman 05:18, 17 May 2006 (UTC)

Update

I think I will go ahead and add Robin and Nhprman as admins. Jtc and Yewenyi are currently not as active but I don't see a problem with adding them as well when they get busy here again.

--IFaqeer 20:17, 19 May 2006 (UTC)

Did this ever happen? In "Special pages" I don't see admin links, as I should if I was an admin. - Nhprman 01:39, 2 July 2006 (UTC)

Admin

Just made Nhprman and Robin Patterson an Admin. Sorry about the delay.

Please welcome them in their new roles. Roles that they, in large part, will help define--with the rest of us nudging them all the way. I know they will help make the Wiki much bigger and better.

Should we reset/clear this page--at least move the nominations of these two folks to an /Archive page?
