Germany is one of the largest non-English-speaking nations mentioned on Familypedia.

Whereas we try to follow the English-language Wikipedia for articles written primarily in English, there can be good reasons for exceptions. User:Afil, our current expert on matters concerning central and eastern Europe, recommends that we depart from en:WP in the matter of district names. For example, Wikipedia's Viersen (district) should have a page of that name on Familypedia (so that people coming from Wikipedia find it and don't think we don't have it and therefore create a duplicate), but it should redirect to our actual article at Viersen District. The " District" ending matches endings used for districts, counties, etc, in a significant group of other countries, notably the United States (e.g. Greene County, Ohio).
