Born 1821 January 21 at Green township, Harrison County, Ohio. Son of Joseph Strausbaugh (1780 - 18960) and of Christina Barger or Berger (1784 - 1860 or later); he had 12 siblings. Ephraim married about 1844 in Ohio to Jane Barger; no documention seen for this; claims are made for both Harrison Co and Vinton Co. Ephraim Strausbaugh moved to Wilkesville, Vinton County, Ohio by 1850. Son Henry B. born 1850. Daughter Martha Jane born 1859. Daughter Margaret E. botn 1862. Son John Albert born 1864. Wife Jane died 1867. Ephraim married secondly to Catherine Strausbaugh, her maiden name. Son Clarence born 1869. Documented at Wilkesville township in 1850, 1860, 1870, 1880 and 1900 census records. Died 1901 April 26 at Wilkesville.
Caution: not the Ephraim Strausbaugh (1848 - 1918) also a Wilkesville resident; that one was the son of a different Joseph Strausbaugh (1819-1907) and of Rebecca Devault (1828-1919). That Ephraim and wife Louisa are buried at Temple aka Blanco Cemetery which is in Meigs County, Ohio. This Ephraim Strausbaugh is probably buried in Vinton County, but the gravesite is not known as of 2016 January.
