Another of Walcha district's lifeflong residents, in the person of Mrs. Emma Jane Bath, answered the Last Call in Murrurundi Hospital on September 14. when she passed peacefully away. The late Mrs. Bath had been visiting her daughter, Mrs. R. McEwen, when she was admitted to hospital. The deceased, who was a daughter of Mrs. J. Coughlin (97), of Coopernook, and the late Mr. J. Coughlin, of Walcha, was born in Walcha district 77 years ago, and for some time past had not enjoyed the best of health. She was a homely woman, endowed with a lady-like, kind, friendly and generous disposition. Her husband, the late Mr. Adrian Bath, predeceased her in 1945.
She is survived by five daughters — Mrs. R. McEwen (Murrurundi), Mrs. A. E. Hoad (Gunnedah), Mrs. J. A. Lamey (Gunnedah), Mrs. R. Smith (Newcastle), Mrs. A. A. Parker (Newcastle); two sous — Christopher Bath (Newcastle) and Syd. Bath (Walcha) ; two sisters— Mrs. Hile (Moorland) and another residing in Sydney; and brothers Athol Coughlin (Sydney). The deceased's remains were conveyed to Walcha, and after a service at St. Andrew's Church of England were laid to rest in the Church of England jcemetery on September 15, Archdeacon Stanning, of Armidale, conducting both services.
