Obituary

Mrs. Emma Sergent.

Thursday last, at Gladstone, there passed away a well-known and respected resident in the person of Mrs. Emma Sergent, wife of Mr. M. Sergent, of that town.

The deceased lady aged 68 years, had been in failing health for some time. When seven years of age she came to this country from England with her parents, the late Mr. and Mrs. Baker, who settled on the Macleay 61 years ago.

Her marriage took place 49 years ago, and three of her children—Messrs. Frederick and Percival, and Miss Violet Sergent survive to mourn with their father. Two children predeceased their mother

The funeral under conduct of Mr. J. R. Garland, took place to Frederickton Cemetery on Friday, the Rev. C. J. Chambers officiating at the graveside.
