Mrs. Chivell, relict of Mr. Samuel Chivell died recently at the residence of her son Mr. Albert Chivell, Warracknabeal, Victoria, at the age of 87. She was born in Kent, and arrived in Adelaide with her parents in 1840, the family settling at Plympton. She was married in 1854, and with her husband took up her residence at Mallala. For 26 years Mr. Chivell farmed in that district, and he died there in 1880. In 1891 Mrs Chivell removed to Bangerong, Victoria, and later on went to reside with her son Albert at Warracknabeal. Twelve months ago she was seized with a stroke, and her health gradually failed. There are six sons— Messrs. Albert and Mark Chivell (Warracknabeal), George Chivell (Galanquil), James Chivell (Ballarat), William Chivell (Wilkur, Victoria), and Thomas Chivell (Long Plains); three daughters, Mesdames T. H. Everett (Warracknabeal), A. Marshman and Gale (Avon, South Australia), 36 grandchildren, and 45 great grandchildren.
