Elias Cheney, Sr. was born 20 February 1741 in Rowley, Essex County, Massachusetts to Moses Cheney (1715-1759) and Sarah Whitten (1720-) and died March 1832 Thornton, Rockingham County, New Hampshire of unspecified causes. He married Jane Plummer (1741-1767) 1 September 1762 in Rowley, Rockingham County, New Hampshire. He married Ruth Jackman (1741-1774) 9 March 1768 in Byfield, Essex County, Massachusetts. He married Hannah Pike (1742-1832) 8 June 1774 in Byfield, Essex County, Massachusetts.
Elias, son of Moses Cheney (1715-1759), was born in Newbury, 20 Feb 1742 and died Mar 1832.
He lived first in Byfield, then Rowley and about 1785 remobed to Campton NH. Later me removed again to Thornton NH where he became a prominent citizen and church officer. He owned land also in Londonderry and Chester NH.
Revolutionary War Service
Elias Cheney served in the revolution, enlisted 07 Mar 1781 into Captain Champerlain's company, Colonel Davis' regiment, time of service eleven days.
He married first at Rowley 07 Sep 1762 to Jane Plummer
He married second on 09 Mar 1768 in Newbury to Ruth Jackman of Byfield who died 19 Feb 1774.
He married third, Hannah Pike also of Byfield on 08 Jun 1774.
