Edmund Lockyer was born 21 January 1784 in Wembury House, Plymouth, Devon, England, United Kingdom to Thomas Lockyer (1756-1806) and Ann Grose (1755-1820) and died 10 June 1860 in York House, Woolloomooloo, New South Wales, Australia of unspecified causes. He married Dorothea Agatha de Ly (1790-1816) 12 August 1806 in Galle, Sri Lanka. He married Sarah Morris (1784-1853) 6 October 1816 in Sri Lanka. He married Eliza Colston (1835-1884) 18 November 1854 in St. James' Church, Sydney, New South Wales, Australia.
