Charles Edward Blackman was born 19 June 1886 in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia to Charles Edward Blackman (1853-1939) and Margaret Thomas (c1857-1944) and died 18 May 1911 Sydney, New South Wales, Australia of perritonitis.
We regrest to hear of the death, on Tuesday, 18th inst, of Mr. Charles Edward Blackman, eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. Blackman, formerly of Tumut. The unfortunate young man had only reached his 24th year, and bore a straightforward and honest reputation, being highly respected by those who knew him. He had had a long and exceedingly painful illness, undergoing an operation in the Sydney Hospital by Dr. Newmarch, one of our most renowned medical men from whom he received every attention. But eventually, perritonitis set in, and all the careful nursing was of no avail. The deceased had, up to lately been employed by the Singer Sewing Machine Coy, where he gave every satisfaction as to his capabilities, being a most competent horseman. He leaves behind him a sorrowing father and mother, one brother and five sisters to mourn the terrible loss they have sustained. We tender the bereaved ones our deepest sympathy. The funeral took place on Friday last, when the remains of the unfortunate man were interred in the Church of England portion of the Rookwood Cemetery.
