"Sir Bernard Babington, Knt, Lord of Babington. He was enfeoffed of lands in Babington Parva, in the Barony of Umfraville. His son does not appear to have retained Babington; but a family of the name, whence descended does not appear, were styled 'of Babington', during many centuries. In 25 Edw. I. Babington Parva was attached to Hexham Priory."
