Obituary

Mr. Archie Rudder.

Mr. Archie Rudder, son of Mr. Enoch Rudder, of Oaklands, passed away at Kempsey on Tuesday morning after a long period of illness. The deceased gentleman, aged 59 years, was noted for his generous and heroic personality. He served with distinction in the Boer War and was active in the pursuit of the Breelong blacks. The elder generation of Kempsey folk remember him as a flautist of some ability; and his passing is regretted by a wide circle of friends. The funeral under direction of Mr. Jos. T. Walker, will take place from the Presbyterian Church to East Kempsey Cemetery at 11 o'clock to-day (Wednesday), when the Rev. David Smith, M.A., will officiate at the graveside.
